Context
KFC Beomgye Flagship needed a complete identity overhaul, shifting from traditional fast-food to a trendy brand experience. The physical space was treated as a user interface, requiring total reimagining of the visual and spatial design system.
The Challenge
Manual 3D rendering was too slow and resource-intensive for quick iteration. We needed a scalable method to prototype high-quality spatial concepts fast enough to meet strict launch deadlines.

My Approach
There were two directions on the table. The first was a warm wood-tone concept with soft textures and a brighter, more approachable atmosphere. The second was a darker, more dramatic direction that broke completely from KFC's existing store language. The wood-tone direction was safe and appealing, but KFC Beomgye needed to feel like a different brand experience entirely. I pushed for the bolder direction, and it was selected. On the AI side, the company had been outsourcing mockup work to an external agency. I proposed doing it in-house using Midjourney, confident I could match the quality faster and at lower cost. The approach was approved, and it cut the concept planning phase to one-third of the previous timeline.

Solution
• Engineered precise prompts using ChatGPT to translate abstract brand narratives and demographic data into actionable design keywords. • Leveraged Midjourney to generate 20+ high-fidelity spatial prototypes and facade concepts in a matter of hours, bypassing days of traditional rendering. • Curated and refined the raw AI outputs into a tangible design system and construction blueprints, successfully bridging the gap between digital ideation and physical deployment.
